Does my bum look big?

Hello all you crafty peeps. I hope you have all had a fantastic week. Today is the start of a new challenge over at That's Crafty. The theme for this fortnight is Just Cards. Isn't that a great challenge? As long as it's a card then all is good. So come on and get out your stamps, inks, embossing mediums and anything else you want to use and make a card. Here is my DT inspiration and you can see it HERE along with all the other fab cards from the rest of the design team.

Here's what I used...

Lost Coast Designs Stamp Set...Fish and Heart.
Darkroom Door Stamp...Camera.
Katzelkraft stamp...Chien  Booly - SOLO082
PaperArtsy Stamp Set...Eclectica EEG21.
PaperArtsy Stamp Set...Eclectica EEG15.
Stampers Anonymous Stamp Set...Ponderings.
Stampers Anonymous Stamp Set...Fairytale Frenzy.
Patti Tolley Parrish Stencil...Ebony & Ivory.
Istencils Stencil...27-00109RSG
Distress Oxide Inks...Salty Ocean, Iced Spruce and Cracked Pistachio.
Distress Ink...Seedless Preserves.
Archival Ink...Jet Black.
Stampin Up Ink...Black.
Coloursoft Pencils.
Posca Pen...Black.
P-Touch.

Here's what I did...

I began by blending the distress inks onto the card until happy with the look. Take the Istencil and spritze with water. Make sure the edges of the stencil are wiped dry before laying the stencil down onto the card. Lay down the stencil and at the same time dab with a paper towel to take up the excess water. Remove stencil and blast with a heat tool. You will now have the stencil pattern on the card in a bleached out type look. Now take the Patti Tolley stencil and lay onto the card and blend over with the seedless preserves distress ink. Take the large swirl from the Lost Coast stamp set and stamp onto the card in the top right and bottom left of the card using the black stampin up ink. I like to use this ink as I personally find that it gives a good strong image when stamping onto distress oxide ink. Take the swirl from the PaperArtsy stamp set and stamp with iced spruce distress oxide ink at the top of the card. Take the small lines element from the PaperArtsy stamp set and stamp randomly down both sides of the card with the Salty Ocean distress oxide ink. Stamp the numbers element from the Stampers Anonymous stamp set using the stampin up black ink along the bottom of the card and also the verse in the top left of the card.

Using a spare piece of smooth white card, stamp the Camera in black versafine ink using a stamping platform so that you can repeat stamp to build up the colour, and also have it wet enough to hold the embossing powder, heat the powder until melted. This gives the camera a better look with added texture. Cut this out and run around the edge with a black marker so that there are no white edges. Now stamp the katzelkraft stamp onto smooth white card using black versafine ink and colour with the pencils, or any colouring medium of your choice. Go around the edges once again with a black marker. Glue the stamped images onto the card. Print out the wording on the P-Touch and stick this to a piece of card. I did this rather than stick it straight down as I wanted a little depth to it. Glue this into place on the card.

Take the white signo pen and add highlights to the dogs face and hat.

Take the black posca pen the doodle two lines around the edges of the card and then create little squares. Fill in alternate squares using the white signo pen. Take the black posca pen and draw around the wording to make it pop from the card. Mount the card onto matching blue card and then mount onto your card base.

I hope you like it and it would be really great to see some great ideas from you all too. Have a go and join in the fun. Don't forget you could be in with a chance of winning a £20 gift voucher to spend at That's Crafty. You can check out the blog challenge rules HERE.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a fantastic weekend and hope to see you again soon.

Just found your nose

Hello everyone. Here today with a quick tag. I do love making tags and I haven't had any time at all just lately to make something just because I want to, which really are the best as they just flow and are generally much easier and quicker to make.

Here's what I used...

Katelkraft Mini stamp...Autruche 088.
Tim Holtz stencil...Crocodile.
PaperArtsy stencil...Emma Godfrey PM007.
PaperArtsy stencil...Sara Naumann PS027.
Sizzix Thinlits Dies...Holiday Greens.
Disrres Oxide inks...Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Lucky Clover.
Posca pens...Black and White.
Daler Rowney white mixed media card.
Tim Holtz Stamp Platform.
Coloured card stock.
Ribbons from stash.
P-Touch.

Here's what I did...

I began with a piece of card measuring 5 x 8 inches. I pressed the picked raspberry, seedless preserves and salty ocean onto my craft sheet and spritzed with water. Swoosh the card through the ink and blast with a heat gun. Keep adding ink in layers, making sure each layer is dry before continuing, until happy with the look. Take the lucky clover and blend across the bottom of the tag where the greenery is to go, give a little spritz of water and blast again with a heat tool. Take the crocodile stencil and spritz with water and lay this onto the tag, dabbing over the top with a paper towel to avoid flooding and spoiling the look. Remove the stencil and dab of excess water and dry with a heat tool. Repeat until happy. Do the same with the dinky PaperArtsy stencil until happy.

Take the stamping platform and stamp the Ostrich directly onto the tag and repeat the stamping until happy. Set this aside. Now stamp the Ostrich onto the a piece of spare card and colour. Cut out the image and glue onto the tag. Having already stamped the ostrich, all the fussy bits that can't be cut out will be there. Take the leaf stencil and blend through with the lucky clover around the top of the tag. Replace the stencil back over the leaves and blend in parts of the leaves with the peeled paint. Using the holiday greens dies, cut out the grasses from various shades of greens and a light brown card stock. Glue these to the bottom of the tag making sure that the base of the ostrich is covered to hide the fact that he has no body.

I typed my wording using a P-Touch machine and glued onto the tag. Use the black posca pen to faux stitch around the wording and the white posca pen to highlight areas on the face of the ostrich and also to outline the leaves. Mount onto matching card and then onto the white card base leaving an inch at the top. Glue the green roses ribbon across the bottom of the tag.

Take a hole punch to make a hole for the ribbon and die cut two hole reinforcements and glue in place. Tie on the ribbon and make a bow. Round off the corners.

All for now and thank you for dropping in.

Family

Hello and welcome. It's challenge time again over at That's Crafty and the theme this fortnight is Anything but Cards. What a great challenge this is. You can make what ever you like. For my DT inspiration I have chosen one of the fab MDF uprights by That's Crafty and those grumpy old penguins by Katzlecraft. If you pop over HERE you can see it along with all the other great creations from the rest of the design team.

Here's what I used...

katzelkraf stamp...Les Pingouins.
Finnabair stamp...Pines.
Versafine ink...Onyx Black.
Archival Ink...Cobalt.
Distress Ink...Antique Linen.
PaperArtsy fresco finish chalk paints...Captain Peacock, China and Glass Blue.
Pebeo Studio texture gel...White Sand.
PaperArtsy gauze.
Prima Junk yard findings...bulb.
Santoro sequins.
Alphabet die...make unknown but any would do.
Tim Holtz...Corked vials
Nuvo Crystal Drops...Navy Blue and Ivory Seashell.
Cosmic Shimmer crystal jewels.
Silver star confetti.

Here's what I did...

Brayer on the china and captain peacock fresco paints until happy with the look. Take the pines stamp and stamp sections of it over the upright using the cobalt ink pad. Mix a small amount of the glass blue fresco paint with water and flick over the upright until you have the desired amount of blue spots. Repeat these steps on the base of your upright. Once dry piece the upright to the base and spread the texture gel along the bottom and up the tag. Set this aside to dry.

Stamp the two large penguins next to each other on smooth white card and stamp the small penguin separately. Cut these out and colour them. Cut a piece of the gauze large enough to bunch up at the bottom and glue this onto the upright. Glue the penguins into position. Die cut some letters from black card to make the word family and glue this into place. Take the two colours of nuvo drops and dot randomly over the upright until happy. Glue on some sequins.

Take the word band and rub some fresco paint into the wording to make it pop and glue it into place. Take the corked vial and fill with a little of the heart confetti and glitter jewels and glue this to the bottom the the upright. Die cut some fish bones and lightly blend over with distress ink while still in the die and glue into place.

A grumpy penguin family making every second count. They just need to smile lol.

I hope you like it and remember, join in the challenge and have some fun. You could be in with the chance of winning a £20 gift voucher to spend over at That's Crafty.
