Life Is Too Short

Hello and welcome.  Well it's been a fair while since my last post and leaving the design team for That's Crafty but when you just can't sleep and up all night this happens. I have really missed my crafty time but work and family commitments make it difficult. I think I need to try and make a little time more time for me now as I'm not complete without creativity time. Loving this verse and something we should all take note of. I know I should.

Here's what is used...

Inkylicious Stamp... Large and small Willow Tree
Inkylicious Stamp... Tree Of Life
Inkylicious verse Stamp... Life Is Too Short
Lavinia Stamp... Birds
Stampin Up Ink... Rich Razzleberry
Cuttlelola Dotspen... Black
Versafine ink... Black
Versafine ink... smokey Grey

Here's what I did...

I already had a piece of white card that I had used as a mop up of ink from a previous project in my stash. Colour's I'm unsure of but would most likely have been distress inks. I stamped the large willow in black ink and the smaller one in smokey grey. I took the couple from the Tree Of Life stamp and stamped them in Smokey Grey. I stamped the verse with the Rich Razzleberry and the birds with Smokey Grey. I used the Rich Razzleberry to blend in some ground and also around the edge of the card. I then used the Dotspen to add a little definition around the base of the trees and the couple.

I mounted my finished piece onto white card and then onto a piece of matching card. I then mounted onto a white card base. Very simple to create when I should have been asleep. Happy days.... or should I say night 😄

I hope you like it and thanks for dropping in. I hope to be back very soon. Take care and happy crafting.

Much love

Hello and welcome. I just love a sea theme and this octopus from Tim Holtz Sea Life is just fabulous. With the weather still being so warm and sunny and my dog still enjoying a good swim in the sea I thought I would make something with a summery feel.

Here's what I used...

Tim Holtz stamp set...Sea Life.
Studio Light stamp set...Summer at the Beach.
Bee Crafty Stamp...Insanity.
The Crafters Workshop Stencil...12 x 12 Cell Theory.
Golden Medium...Fibre Paste.
PaperArtsy fresco finish chalk paints...Carribean Sea, South Pacific, Blue Glass and Snowflake.
Cadence Mixed Media Artsy Stones...Small.
Cork Sheet.
Sheena Douglass Die...What a Mesh.
Sizzix Thinlits Die...Holiday Greens and Branches.
Stazon Ink Pad...Black.
Water colour Brush Markers.
Cosmic Shimmer Glue.
Glue Gel.
PaperArtsy Smooth White Card.
Green Card.
Signo Pen...White.
Glossy Accents.
Stamp Platform.

Here's what I did...

Breyer over a piece of smooth white card with the fresco paint until happy. Lay the stencil over the card and push through the Fibre Paste. Set this aside to dry.

Take a spare piece of card and stamp the octopus in black ink. Colour with the brush markers. Use the signo pen to add some highlights. Take a piece of acetate and the stamping platform and stamp the small octopus three times using black stazon ink. Cut out carefully.

Take the cork sheet and die cut the mesh and Branches. Die cut one of the elements from the holiday greens that looks like seaweed from the green card.

Now the Fibre Paste is dry, take the cosmic shimmer glue and drizzle it up from the bottom of the card and then sprinkle over the art stones. Once dry, glue on all the weed and then glue on the octopus using glue gel. Glue on the jelly fish using glossy accents. Carefully stamp the small fish a few times with black ink.

Take a piece of smooth white card and stamp the wording. Cut apart and glue one part in the top left and the other part in the bottom right.

Mount the finished piece onto a sheet of cork and then onto your finished card base.

I do hope you like it and thank you for dropping by. Have a super weekend and hope to see you again soon.

Hello everyone. It is with sad regret that this is my last post on the Design Team for That's Crafty. Work and family commitments mean I am unable to dedicate the time needed to keep to shedules with design team makes and writing up blog posts at this time. I will still be crafting of course as I can't imagine life without but I will be able to do it as and when time allows. So with Halloween looming I thought I'd make a quick and easy fun upright using the fab MDF Torn Upright, Greyboard Tree and Dinky Stencils. This is just a sneaky peak but if you head on over HERE you can see the full upright with pruducts used and how to's.

Thanks for dropping in and hope to see you all soon. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Born to Ballet

Hello and welcome. A little fun today using the new Daughter verse by Visible Image which is just lovely. I don't normally do girlie cards but I felt these all went together so well. I don't have a daughter myself but I'm sure this would be a perfect card for many daughters out there and also any age.

Here's what I used...

Clarity Stamp 250gsm smooth white card.
Black Glitter Card.
Visible Image stamp set...Born to Perform.
Visible Image stamp...Daughter Definition.
Leonie Pujol stamp set...Lots of Texture LP-ST-LTEX.
Crafters Worklshop Stencil...Mini Star Shower.
Distress Ink...Worn Lipstick.
Stampin Up Ink Pad...Rose Red.
Brilliance Ink Pad...Black.
Versafine Ink Pad...Onyx Black.
Stampendous Embossing Powder...Disco Black.
Stampendous Frantage...Silver Halo Mix Glitter.
Stamping Platform.
Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Here's what I did...

I began with a piece of smooth white card and lightly blended over with worn lipstick. Place the stencil over the card and brush over with the rose red. Stamp the element from the Lots of Texture set that looks like a firework, around the edge of the card with the rose red. Once happy blend around the edge using the same ink to darken.

Take a spare piece of smooth white card and blend over as before, with worn lipstick. Blend around this with the rose red. Place this card onto the stamp platform and stamp the ballet shoes to the right. Leaving the card in place, stamp the verse with black versafine. I found I needed three ink ups for this but I think my ink pad is worn out. That's the beauty of the stamping platform. Mount this onto black glitter card and place onto the main card to work out where the ballerina is to be stamped. Using the black brilliance ink, stamp the ballerina a couple of times and apply the disco embossing powder. Heat until melted. Using the black versafine, stamp the wording. Now glue the mounted daughter verse onto the card.

Apply the cosmic shimmer glue to the skirt and cover with the silver halo mix glitter. This really does look amazing but sadly doesn't show in the picture. Mount the finished card to black glitter card. Now mount to some matching rose colour card before mounting onto the white card base. A fairly quick and easy card to make and very pretty I think.

I hope you like it and thank you for dropping in. Hope to see you again soon

All for now. Enjoy your week and hope to see you again soon.

Need a Hug

Yay...It's Friday :-) It's also the start of a new challenge over at That's Crafty. The theme this fortnight is Fly Away, projects to contain wings, birds etc. Here is my DT Inspiration. Time was a little short for me so I made a fairly quick and east tag. I do like making tags and so love these characters so thought I would team them up for some loving hugs. You can see my tag over on the challenge blog HERE along with more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Here's what I used...

Lost Coast Stamp...Bird.
Prima Stamp...Border. Unsure of name as not in packaging but any would do.
Sizzix Thinlits Die...Susans Garden 659252.
Alphabet Die...Make unknown but any would do.
Glue Gel.
Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste.
Watercolour Brush Markers.
Ribbon from stash.
Feathers from stash.

Here's what I did...

I began by layering up the distress inks on to smooth white card, making sure I dried each layer before adding the next. Give the card a spritz of water here and there as you go. Once happy with the colour, take the 8 x 8 stencil and spritz with water. Make sure the edges are wiped dry before laying this down on to the card. Make sure you have some paper towel to hand to dab up the excess. Lift the stencil, quick dab again with the paper towel and blast with a heat tool. This will leave a soft print on the card. I love this technique as it is so effective. Now take the dinky stencil and apply the spiced marmalade lightly through the stencil randomly. Take the PaperArtsy stencil and translucent embossing paste and apply the paste through the leaves over the card. Blast with a heat tool until it starts to bubble to add texture. I love the look this gives.

Stamp the bird and cat onto some mixed media card and colour with the brush markers. Cut these out carefully. Stamp the border across the bottom the the card and glue the flowers across the bottom just above the stamped border. Die cut one of the branches from the thinlits die set using brown card. Glue the branch into place and using glue gel, mount the bird in place on the branch. Do the same with the cat and place him just above the flowers with his tail trailing over. Add some highlights to the bird and branch using the signo pen. Die cut the letters using black card and glue into place using the all purpose glue. Add a couple of feathers to finish off.

Mount your finished piece onto red card before mounting onto a white tag base. Punch a hole for the ribbon. Die cut a couple of hole reinforcements and tie some matching ribbon.

I hope you like it and that it may have given you some inspiration. So come and join in the fun over at That's Crafty. I would love to see some crafty projects and don't forget that you could be in with a chance of winning the £20 gift voucher to spend at That's Crafty. You can see the challenge rules HERE. Get your crafty mojo on and join in the fun.

All for now. Have a great weekend and hope to see you agin soon.

See Reality

Hello everyone. Yes it's that time of the week again. Seems to come round so quickly it's scary. I'm over at That's Crafty with this weeks DT inspiration. Here is a sneaky peak, which you can see in full HERE with items used and how to's. I'm using one of the Acrylic Upright Light Bulbs which is almost impossible to photograph due to reflection which is such a shame as you don't see all the changing colours and shadows created due to the mirrored background but I hope you get the idea.

All for now. Enjoy the rest of your week and hope to see you again soon.
