Born to Ballet

Hello and welcome. A little fun today using the new Daughter verse by Visible Image which is just lovely. I don't normally do girlie cards but I felt these all went together so well. I don't have a daughter myself but I'm sure this would be a perfect card for many daughters out there and also any age.

Here's what I used...

Clarity Stamp 250gsm smooth white card.
Black Glitter Card.
Visible Image stamp set...Born to Perform.
Visible Image stamp...Daughter Definition.
Leonie Pujol stamp set...Lots of Texture LP-ST-LTEX.
Crafters Worklshop Stencil...Mini Star Shower.
Distress Ink...Worn Lipstick.
Stampin Up Ink Pad...Rose Red.
Brilliance Ink Pad...Black.
Versafine Ink Pad...Onyx Black.
Stampendous Embossing Powder...Disco Black.
Stampendous Frantage...Silver Halo Mix Glitter.
Stamping Platform.
Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Here's what I did...

I began with a piece of smooth white card and lightly blended over with worn lipstick. Place the stencil over the card and brush over with the rose red. Stamp the element from the Lots of Texture set that looks like a firework, around the edge of the card with the rose red. Once happy blend around the edge using the same ink to darken.

Take a spare piece of smooth white card and blend over as before, with worn lipstick. Blend around this with the rose red. Place this card onto the stamp platform and stamp the ballet shoes to the right. Leaving the card in place, stamp the verse with black versafine. I found I needed three ink ups for this but I think my ink pad is worn out. That's the beauty of the stamping platform. Mount this onto black glitter card and place onto the main card to work out where the ballerina is to be stamped. Using the black brilliance ink, stamp the ballerina a couple of times and apply the disco embossing powder. Heat until melted. Using the black versafine, stamp the wording. Now glue the mounted daughter verse onto the card.

Apply the cosmic shimmer glue to the skirt and cover with the silver halo mix glitter. This really does look amazing but sadly doesn't show in the picture. Mount the finished card to black glitter card. Now mount to some matching rose colour card before mounting onto the white card base. A fairly quick and easy card to make and very pretty I think.

I hope you like it and thank you for dropping in. Hope to see you again soon

Need a Hug

Yay...It's Friday :-) It's also the start of a new challenge over at That's Crafty. The theme this fortnight is Fly Away, projects to contain wings, birds etc. Here is my DT Inspiration. Time was a little short for me so I made a fairly quick and east tag. I do like making tags and so love these characters so thought I would team them up for some loving hugs. You can see my tag over on the challenge blog HERE along with more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Here's what I used...

Lost Coast Stamp...Bird.
Prima Stamp...Border. Unsure of name as not in packaging but any would do.
Sizzix Thinlits Die...Susans Garden 659252.
Alphabet Die...Make unknown but any would do.
Glue Gel.
Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste.
Watercolour Brush Markers.
Ribbon from stash.
Feathers from stash.

Here's what I did...

I began by layering up the distress inks on to smooth white card, making sure I dried each layer before adding the next. Give the card a spritz of water here and there as you go. Once happy with the colour, take the 8 x 8 stencil and spritz with water. Make sure the edges are wiped dry before laying this down on to the card. Make sure you have some paper towel to hand to dab up the excess. Lift the stencil, quick dab again with the paper towel and blast with a heat tool. This will leave a soft print on the card. I love this technique as it is so effective. Now take the dinky stencil and apply the spiced marmalade lightly through the stencil randomly. Take the PaperArtsy stencil and translucent embossing paste and apply the paste through the leaves over the card. Blast with a heat tool until it starts to bubble to add texture. I love the look this gives.

Stamp the bird and cat onto some mixed media card and colour with the brush markers. Cut these out carefully. Stamp the border across the bottom the the card and glue the flowers across the bottom just above the stamped border. Die cut one of the branches from the thinlits die set using brown card. Glue the branch into place and using glue gel, mount the bird in place on the branch. Do the same with the cat and place him just above the flowers with his tail trailing over. Add some highlights to the bird and branch using the signo pen. Die cut the letters using black card and glue into place using the all purpose glue. Add a couple of feathers to finish off.

Mount your finished piece onto red card before mounting onto a white tag base. Punch a hole for the ribbon. Die cut a couple of hole reinforcements and tie some matching ribbon.

I hope you like it and that it may have given you some inspiration. So come and join in the fun over at That's Crafty. I would love to see some crafty projects and don't forget that you could be in with a chance of winning the £20 gift voucher to spend at That's Crafty. You can see the challenge rules HERE. Get your crafty mojo on and join in the fun.

All for now. Have a great weekend and hope to see you agin soon.

See Reality

Hello everyone. Yes it's that time of the week again. Seems to come round so quickly it's scary. I'm over at That's Crafty with this weeks DT inspiration. Here is a sneaky peak, which you can see in full HERE with items used and how to's. I'm using one of the Acrylic Upright Light Bulbs which is almost impossible to photograph due to reflection which is such a shame as you don't see all the changing colours and shadows created due to the mirrored background but I hope you get the idea.

All for now. Enjoy the rest of your week and hope to see you again soon.

Keep your dream alive

Hello and welcome. I hope you are all having a good week. I'm here with a sneaky peak of this week's DT make for That's Crafty which you can see in full HERE with a list of products used and how to's. I am using the awesome Maple Leaf stencil which is one of the new stencils and also one of the new Greyboard trees..These were launched on Hochanda two or three weeks back. Those who know me well will know how I love my stencils but this one is definitely a favourite right now.

All for now and thanks for dropping in.

Much love, Bev. xxx

Possibility begins with Imagination

Hello and welcome. I'm back here today sharing my DT inspiration for the blog challenge over at That's Crafty. Yes it's blog challenge time again and the theme for this fortnight is Rustica. Your project must contain rust effects. Well mine contains rather a lot I think but it was all good fun, especially when it turns you to drink because you want the bottle lol. No, all joking aside, I did save this bottle a while back, as I do many things as it's such a fab shape and I had this sort of thing in mind for it. Anyway that's enough chat. Come and join in the fun and you could be in with the chance of winning that £20 gift voucher to spend at That's Crafty. You can see my project HERE along with all the other amazing projects from the rest of the design team.

Here's what I used...

PaperArtsy fresco finish chalk acrylics...Bora Bora, White Fire, Lavender, Tangerine Twist, and Cherry Red.
Cosmic Shimmer Paint...Scarlet Sunset, Orange Gold, Jade Mint and Purple Violet.
LuminArte Paint...Iridescent Red and Iridescent Violet.
Treasure Gold...White Fire.
Gems from stash.
Metallic thread from stash.

Here's what I did...

I began by giving the bottle a coat of black gesso. I Cut 5 layers of black card with the die and glued these together to give a good depth. This was then glued to the front of the bottle. Then sponge on the Bora Bora paint, covering the whole bottle. Now take the White Fire and dry brush this over parts of the bottle.

Using the dinky stencil and grunge paste, apply to areas of the bottle. Once this is dry, add the art stones using the all purpose adhesive to areas of the bottle and also in the gap under the die to fill in. Once dry, go over with the Bora Bora.

Once dry, go over again with the white fire using a dry brush  Now comes the lengthy part. Adding the rust elements. This is best done in sections allowing it to dry thoroughly before adding more. This takes a while to dry so over a few nights I added parts and allowed to dry over night. To do this I applied gel medium on the areas to be rusted and applied the rust powder. Then choose the rust regent colour of your choice and drip it over the rust powder and leave it to do its thing. Carry on with this process once each part is dry until happy.

Take the Ancient Heart and apply the Cherry Red and Tangerine Twist, building up the colour until happy. I also added a touch of Bora Bora, mainly around the edge. Once dry I went over with the Cosmic Shimmer paint in matching colours to add the gorgeous pearly sheen. To add a little more yumminess I then added the LuminArte Iridescent paints. On the part above the heart, paint in the same way as the heart using the Lavender and Bora Bora. Once dry, go over with the Cosmic Shimmer purple violet and Jade Mint. When dry, add the Iridescent Violet. Glue both pieces to the front of the bottle over the die using glue gel. Using my finger, I gently rubbed over the purple top with Treasure Gold. Take the gem strip and add to the top of the heart.

Take the word band and rub some Bora Bora across the wording to highlight the words and buff off the excess. Glue this along the bottom of the bottle using glue gel. Tie a piece of metallic thread around the top of the bottle to finish off.

I hope you like it and that it may have given you some inspiration to take away with you and perhaps create something lovely to enter the challenge. You can read the challenge rules HERE. It would be great to see some lovely entries.

All for now. Happy crafting and have a fantastic weekend. Hope to see you again soon.

Summer Dream

Hello and welcome. It's that time of the week again which means I'm over on the blog at That's Crafty with this weeks project. Time has been very short for me right now so I thought I'd share this GiganTAG which was made for the Hochanda shows a while back that featured these products. I thought with the weather this Bank Holiday being so hot and sunny it would be a nice summery one to end August. Really can't post a make for the C word right now. This is a sneaky peak but you can see the whole GiganTag HERE along with items used and how to's. This shot was in daylight and tilted so you can really see the shimmer of the fabulous paints. The full picture over at That's Crafty shows a front shot without daylight so you can really see how these paints look depending on the light. They are amazing.

I hope you all had a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend. Have a great week and hope to see you all again soon.
